Introduction: Maintaining the health of mother and fetus during pregnancy requires knowledge of pregnancy care. The aim of the research is to investigate the role of online news and information search skills in the area of pregnancy of pregnant women in Kohnouj city in improving their health information search behavior during pregnancy.Method: The current research is a semi-experimental type of research (pre-test-post-test with a control group). The statistical population of the research is pregnant women in the city of Kohnuj. The research sample was 48 pregnant women of this city who were randomly selected and divided into two intervention and control groups. The tool for data collection was a researcher-made questionnaire. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by experts and its Cronbach's alpha coefficient was equal to 0.828. The data was analyzed by SPSS software.Findings: The mean scores of mothers' health literacy increased slightly in the control group after educational interventions, but the increase was higher in the intervention group. Also, information search skills after educational interventions in the control group increased very little, but in the intervention group, this increase was very high. In other words, teaching information search skills to mothers in the intervention group has been effective in increasing and improving their health information search skills in the field of pregnancy.Conclusion: Information search skills training had a positive effect on increasing the level of awareness of pregnant women in order to take care of themselves and the fetus, so that it ultimately led to the improvement of their search for health information in the field of pregnancy during the pregnancy period.Keywords: Health Literacy, Information searching skills , Pregnant women, Health information searching.

Introduction: Since the relationship between the user and the web is through the user interface, it is essential that health websites be user-centric. The aim of the present study was to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the user interface of health websites in Iran. Methods: This applied and descriptive research was conducted using heuristic method. Based on their Alexa rank and the rate of related pages, 13 health websites were selected. The websites were examined by 5 evaluators (3 graduates in computer sciences and 2 in medical library and information sciences) using a checklist containing 5 major criteria and 27 items. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics in Excel software. Results: The health literacy websites had observed 63.78% of the criteria of the checklist. The criteria of flexibility (89%), technical features (81%), and aesthetics and visibility (77%) gained the highest scores, respectively. However, the lowest scores belonged to the criteria of help and documentation (36.9%) and responsiveness and interaction (35%). Conclusion: The websites’ user interfaces were in relatively desirable conditions. According to the findings, the criteria of help and documentation and responsiveness and interaction require more attention. It is suggested that these websites resolve the identified problems and minimize the gap between them and the users, so that users can visit these websites more frequently.

Introduction: Query formulation is an essential part of successful information retrieval. The challenges in formulating effective queries are emphasized in the web information search, because the web is used by a diverse population with diverse information needs, different goals and different levels of experience and topic familiarity. This research was conducted to investigate the queries variations based on the contextual factors by Postgraduate Students at Kerman University of Medical Sciences on the Web. Methods: This study was conducted through a mixed method. Thirty postgraduate students at Kerman University of Medical Sciences voluntarily participated the study in the first semester of the academic year 91-92. The data was gathered using two questionnaires and log file with using Camtasia Studio software. The questionnaires were calculated by Cronbach's alpha first questionnaire (0.90) and second questionnaire (0.87) and their reliability was confirmed by experts. SPSS19 was used to analyze the data. Results: Three hundred and ninety-nine queries were searched the mean of iteration, was 13.30. The query iteration was significantly different based on search experience, ease of use, usefulness, satisfaction, relevance judgment. The mean of query length was 3.31. Users used two keywords in your search query. The findings indicated a significant relationship between query length with retrieval actions (viewing, navigating and Extracting) in search engines and websites. There was no significant different between the contextual factors (search experience and topic familiarity) with retrieval action (navigating and Extracting. Conclusion: In conclusion, this study showed that querying behavior in information searching processes on the Web varied across a user‘s contextual factors. Since experience in search leads in more efficient search, it is suggested to train students. According to the relationship between evaluation variables and search behavior, it's suggested to design interfaces matching the user's needs. The study includes implications for database and information retrieval systems designers. Keywords: Information Searching Behavior; Internet; Students.

Introduction: Recall and precision are two indicators for evaluating information retrieval system’s efficiency and performance. The aim of the present study was to compare the recall and precision of Iranmedex, Magiran and SID databases for retrieval of scholarly information in the domain of pharmacy. Methods: This work is an analytical study, that, in this was used from comparison method and Direct observation by end user. The population was articles retrieved from the Web sites of Iranmedex, Magiran& SID databases. Data collection tool was checklist that validity was confirmed by experts of LIS. First, Keywords were listed from two numbers 7 & 8 of Twenty-first volume Journal of Behavioral pharmacology, And Keywords associated with this field were Determined by Pharmacy specialists. Ten selected keywords searched in 3 databases. Then retrieved results were refer to Pharmacy specialists for identify relevant records. The obtained data were analyzed with descriptive statistics (frequency), (χ2) and SPSS 11.5 software at the significant level of P<0.05 Results: Retrieved records of Iranmedex database was 615, from Magiran 375 and SID was 116 record. Iranmedex dominated the top positions when comparing relative recall (39%), and SID revealed reliable precision in the output (%55/1). Iranmedex and Magiran database have had more overlap (219 record). Conclusion: The results are tips for Pharmacy specialists to choose database for retrieval of scholarly information, if recall is important for they, choose Iranmedex and if high precision is important, need to use the SID database.

The aim of each information retrieval is to present relevant information to the right user at the right time. Images as a kind of information can convey a large volume of information. In medicine, the most common use of images is in education, research and medical diagnosis. This wide variety of usage refers to the uprising importance of imaging through various fields of medicine. Therefore, current advances in medical imaging techniques and frequent use for example, in decision making systems and evidence-based medicine depicts the high necessity of medical images retrieval. This paper introduced text-based and content-based image retrieval systems, the application of the image systems especially in medicine. Some existing systems are described. Finally it was suggested although images have some features different from texts but some techniques in text retrieval such as artificial intelligence and relevance feedback can be used to improve the image retrieval systems.
